HCS World Championship 2024 – The People’s Champ’s Top 12

Ladies and Gentlemen, the World Championship for Halo Infinite is finally upon us. We’ve had another amazing season of competitive Halo. The year was mostly dominated by SpaceStation Gaming who’ve won 3 majors this year. FaZe won the London Major, while OpTic didn’t win anything. All signs point to this being the last competitive event for Halo Infinite. If so, what a treat these past 3 years have been. We saw Cloud9 dominate the first half of year 1. Then the OpTic dynasty took over and won the first world championship. FaZe then created a super team to dethrone OpTic and was successful in doing so. In Year 2 we saw OpTic, Spacestation, and FaZe wrestle for the number 1 spot. FaZe won the 2nd world championship and was poised to dominate year 3. However, SpaceStation was the top dog this year. Any of the top 3 could win the big one this year. You already know, championship weekend can’t start until The People’s Champ drops his power rankings. You may think, “Stunna you are ranking 12 teams but 16 teams are competing this weekend”. Let’s be honest, there are only 12 teams that will be competitive at this tournament. For the last time possibly, let’s get to these rankings.

1. SpaceStation Gaming

Spacestation is looking to complete the 3-peat. Every event they look better. Spacestation is almost unbeatable because of how fast they play. You can only hope they make mistakes and beat themselves. I think they’ll be crowned world champions this weekend.

2. OpTic

I still think they made a mistake in dropping APG. This is the first season where they haven’t won an event. They keep making it to Grand Finals but can’t close it out. I see them winning the event if SSG gets knocked during semi-finals.

3. FaZe

The trio of Royal 2, Snakebite, and Frosty is the greatest of all time. With Renegade this team should’ve won more events this year. They can still salvage this year by winning the big one. They’ll need to avoid early losses in bracket play to win this event.

4. Shopify Rebellion

Throughout Halo Infinite there have been 3 teams that have dominated the competition. Shopify Rebellion has disrupted the status quo and are now on equal footing with the top 3. This young team has the slaying power to win the whole tournament. They’ve been knocking at the door all year. This squad needs to stay composed on Championship Sunday if they want to make Grand Finals.

5. Sentinels

This may be the last weekend we see Lethul play competitive Halo. If so what a legendary career he had. This squad has what it takes to win it all. The question is, can they stay consistent all weekend? That’s been their main issue. They can win it all, but I don’t think they will. How sweet would it be for Lethul to win one more world championship?

6. Native Gaming

Native finally played up to their potential at SLC. With APG’s veteran leadership, they could make a deep run. Barcode and Tapping buttons have some of the best gun skill in HCS. They’ll need to play perfect Halo to knock out anyone in the top 4 though.

7. Quadrant

Europe’s only hope for a championship. They just don’t have the firepower they had last year. Sure, they can beat any team, but how likely is that? Quadrant is still the best strongholds team in the HCS. That’ll only get them so far this weekend.

8. Pure

Pure is a dangerous but streaky team. They could beat OpTic one match and lose to an international team the next. Don’t let them get hot or you’ll regret it.

9. Complexity

Any team that is captained by Ryanoob is going to play Halo the right way. Minimal mistakes and good spawn control are their Forte. Where they fall short is their flexibility. They have a strict game plan that they don’t adjust when the game isn’t going their way. I think they get eliminated early.

10. Cloud9

These guys have some solid wins this season. They should slam the international teams and put up a good fight against the NA teams. However, I think they’ll get bounced early.

11. Into The Breach

They won’t be making it to championship Sunday, but they sure are fun to watch. They have Wutum being the only mouse and keyboard player to make it to main stage. And some of Europe’s elite. I could see them beating a good amount of the NA teams, but not anyone in the top 6.

12. Dark Inside

Some solid slayers on this team. There is some main stage experience on this team for sure. I just don’t see this roster doing much this weekend. It would be fun to see them cause some upsets this weekend.
